TRAPPED

Once there lived four mortals,

Who tried to find a way,

To escape death and seek life eternal,

Past the ending day.

You should get to know them,

They've been here a while,

North, South, East and West,

Were four very normal people.

South and East were fair of face,

With posies of roses,

And dresses of lace.

Handsome West sought to please all,

Spent his money for strangers,

Spent his nights on the dance floor.

North was cruel and cold and mean,

He looked down his nasty nose on all.

These foolish four,

Two for power,

Two for grace,

Went knocking on Heaven's door.

He answered them quickly,

Heard what they said,

Nodded a lot,

And took them to bed.

Long story short,

When they woke up,

They saw the whole world,

And their bodies,

Still sleeping so sound.

The selfish four,

Cried and shouted and screamed,

Fought each other wildly,

But not one of them died.

Heaven turned up and sighed.

'Well, know you're immortal,

Make yourselves useful.'

And he placed them,

At the four directions,

North, east, west and south,

And there they still stay,

Guarding the Earth

From themselves,

Immortal, just as they wished.
